PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAM THEATRE
Theatre Class – Ages 9 and up. Students will study the basics of theatre craft and performance. Class work will include acting and improvisation, voice, movement and pantomime, and theatre games. Classes will also serve as rehearsals for the performance of “The Great Blueness, a Musical Fantasy”, at the Wood Festival, June 2017. 4:30 - 5:45 p.m. Fee - $60.00. Instructor Jude Binder.
Children ages 9 and up are invited to join Jude Binder for this exciting theatre class. Students will learn the basics of theatre craft in preparation for our performance at the Wood Festival. Students will be required to attend one or two rehearsals at the end of the program for a performance of the “The Great Blueness, a Musical Fantasy”, a theatre piece inspired by Arnold Lobel’s wonderful children’s book “The Great Blueness and Other Predicaments”. Legend has it that there was a time when everything in the world was grey, a time known as the Great Greyness. And so the story begins. There is a part for everyone, and with props, music, energy and attention we will tell the story for the Wood Festival.
INTRODUCTION TO DANCE AND THEATRE
Ages 7 and up. Introduction to the fundamentals of dance and theatre.
Students will have the opportunity to use their imagination and creativity
through various dance games and activities. They will bring a story book
to life thrugh creative play, improvisation and movement exercises.
