5% from fund-raising events

Heartwood has been able to keep its program fees much lower than the actual cost of providing its programs because it raises 88.5% of its budget from other sources.

Here is how Heartwood spends some of its budget:

$20 pays to keep Heartwood on the Internet for a month.

$80 pays the class fees for a scholarship student to take two classes a week for the fall or spring program.

$150 pays for postage for 3 1/2 months.

$275 pays the staff of three to keep Heartwood running smoothly for a week.

$1000 pays our rent for three months.
