DANCE AND MOVEMENT CLASSES
Do you want to dance? Do you want to learn to perform? Come dance with us! Dance students must wear dance clothes or sweatpants and tucked in t-shirts. Hair must be securely pulled back and glasses held on with sports ties. We keep a stock of clothes, hair ties and sports bands for classes that are available for students to buy or borrow. Movement for Actors students please wear sweatpants, t-shirt and bare feet. CREATIVE DANCE AND THEATRE
FOR CHILDREN - AGES 8 AND UP
An hour of dance and theatre study with an emphasis on rhythm, group work and expression. Students will build skills in balance, coordination and flexibility. Activities include anatomy and nature study as they apply to the arts, voice, movement and music. Monday, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. The Little Kanawha Bus will be available to pick up children for FREE from Arnoldsburg Elementary, Calhoun Middle and Pleasant Hill Elementary at the end of the school day on Mondays for this class. Children and teenagers wishing to learn to dance and perform will have the opportunity to study Ballet and Theatre Dance. There are three components to the Dance Company - classes, rehearsals and performances. There are no auditions to join but students must have a desire to learn to dance and must commit to faithfully attend a minum of two classes per week (Level 1), three classes per week (Level 2) and all rehearsals. Please call for information. Level 1 - Tuesday 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Thurs 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Fee - *FREE classes for children and teens. Studies in Modern, Caribbean, Ballet and International Folk Dance technique. This class is open to teens and adults who have some dance experience. Please call for more information. Tuesday, 6:30 - 8:15 p.m. MOVEMENT FOR HEALTH AND CENTERING
Learn to move comfortably. Movement for Health and Centering classes combine rhythmic, meditative and aerobic movement sequences with anatomical analysis to achieve a general upgrading of the body and an increased sense of well being.
