Heartwood in the Hills will begin its 23rd Spring Program of Classes March 6 - June 2, 2006
Details on class offerings and general
information about about the Program will appear on the website in
mid-February.

GENERAL CLASSES
CREATIVE
ARTS FOR CHILDREN - AGES 5 AND UP - FEE - $36.00 Singing,
dancing, visual arts, creative dramatics and masks. Includes
lessons in Conservation Education.
CREATIVE DANCE AND MUSIC- AGES 8 AND UP - FEE - $36.00 An
hour of dance for children exploring basic movement activities.
DRUM CIRCLE- FOR ADULTS AND TEENAGERS OVER 14- FEE - $48.00 One
hour of drumming with Michael Franek. Learn to read rhythm notation
with different time signatures, play one rhythm while three
different rhythms are going on, get different sounds from the
drum, and hand techniques.
MASKMAKING - FOR ADULTS AND TEENAGERS OVER 14- FEE - $60.00 Plus
a Materials Fee - $10.00 Students
will be guided through the process of creating tarlatan masks
as seen in Heartwood productions. The length of this class will
vary depending on individual work. Children under 14 must be
accompanied by an adult helper.

MOVEMENT FOR HEALTH AND CENTERING CLASSES Monday,
7:00 - 8:30 p.m. A low impact morning movement class designed to awaken physical awareness and promote physical well-being. Thursday,
10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

PERFORMANCE DANCE CLASSES
Dance team and ballet students must wear dance clothes or sweatpants
and tucked in t-shirts. Hair must be securely pulled back and
glasses held on with sports ties. We keep a stock of clothes,
hair ties and sports bands for classes that are available for
students to buy or borrow Children
wishing to learn to dance and perform will have the opportunity
to study Ballet and Theatre Dance. There are no auditions to join
the Dance Teams. Students must have the desire to learn
to dance and must commit to faithfully attend two classes per
week and all rehearsals. These classes are part of Heartwood's
Performing Arts Program. Rehearsals are part of the program. Rehearsals
for this year's Dancing for you! School Tour will be March 26,
April 30, and May 21. There will be one more rehearsal date to
be announced. Studies in classical and contemporary ballet technique. Previous Ballet study is required. Tuesday,
